I feel like I keep apologizing to you all for being such a flake, lol. But it's true - I'm sorry I don't have time to read everyone's journals and thank everyone who faves a piece. I really appreciate everyone's support. So here is yet another statement of thanks to every single one of you reading this. Thank you guys.

Some of you know I went to visit my step-mom last weekend. I was a little fuzzy on the details before, so I'll get it all straightened out now. She has lung cancer. She has never smoked a day in her life. There is also a tumor in her hip region, growing and pressing against her sciatic nerve and causing her a great deal of pain. It breaks my heart to see her walk because her hips hurts her and she cannot breathe well because of the lung cancer. She has started chemotherapy for the lung cancer and will be getting radiation for the tumor in her hip. Needless to say, this is a pretty stressful time for my family and I. No matter your religious affiliation (or if you even have one, for that matter), all prayers and good thoughts are deeply appreciated. It really touched my step-mom when I told her that so many of you from around the world have offered you prayers and support. And so thank you for that too.

On a happier note, I should be getting a formal job offer today. All that's left is for my background check to clear and then I will be employed with a great company that pays a better salary than I have ever been offered and they offer full benefits after 4 months. It is not the job I would have chosen, but the summer is half over and this is my best bet. I'm very grateful for it. Also, the apartment hunt continues, though with little success.

Random bit of geekiness: I have just purchased a used copy of Final Fantasy XII. I fail as a gamer. I'm sorry, but I fail to see the appeal of that fighting system. I'm a slashy-hacky-button-stabber...not a wait-for-your-meter-to-charge-then-step-up-next-to kinda girl. Pfft. Fail.

I've got too many projects going on at one time. I'm so burnt out on the big one and I'm just not happy with it at all. But it's so close to being finished that I hate to abandon it. Actually, it's only about 2/3 done...but that feel like quite a lot. It also feels like I have a colossal chunk of it left to complete. I hate it when projects turn into big, scary, looming monsters in the dark. So I started working on something else to ease the tension. It's coming out...dark. I rather like it. Hopefully, I'll finish today or this weekend.

Also, on a somewhat related matter, I have zero inspiration for RP. Zero. Actually, I take that back. I have inspiration, but I doubt I could find a partner for it, and I don't think I could keep a story going with it alone. Ah well. Such is life.
