Hey there! Rebecca here. Thanks for visiting!

So I guess you want to know a little about me?
I'm 21, in college, and painting is my passion. You will find a little bit of everything in my gallery, though I specialize in painting horses. I try to respond promptly to ever comment, however sometimes life gets in the way. Stayed tuned, I'll get back to you soon.

Updates + Progress

Journal Entry: Fri Jun 26, 2009, 11:48 AM

.For Friends, Visitors, & Watchers.
I feel like I keep apologizing to you all for being such a flake, lol. But it's true - I'm sorry I don't have time to read everyone's journals and thank everyone who faves a piece. I really appreciate everyone's support. So here is yet another statement of thanks to every single one of you reading this. Thank you guys. :thanks:

.Real Life Updates.
Some of you know I went to visit my step-mom last weekend. I was a little fuzzy on the details before, so I'll get it all straightened out now. She has lung cancer. She has never smoked a day in her life. There is also a tumor in her hip region, growing and pressing against her sciatic nerve and causing her a great deal of pain. It breaks my heart to see her walk because her hips hurts her and she cannot breathe well because of the lung cancer. She has started chemotherapy for the lung cancer and will be getting radiation for the tumor in her hip. Needless to say, this is a pretty stressful time for my family and I. No matter your religious affiliation (or if you even have one, for that matter), all prayers and good thoughts are deeply appreciated. It really touched my step-mom when I told her that so many of you from around the world have offered you prayers and support. And so thank you for that too.

On a happier note, I should be getting a formal job offer today. All that's left is for my background check to clear and then I will be employed with a great company that pays a better salary than I have ever been offered and they offer full benefits after 4 months. It is not the job I would have chosen, but the summer is half over and this is my best bet. I'm very grateful for it. Also, the apartment hunt continues, though with little success.

Random bit of geekiness: I have just purchased a used copy of Final Fantasy XII. I fail as a gamer. I'm sorry, but I fail to see the appeal of that fighting system. :| I'm a slashy-hacky-button-stabber...not a wait-for-your-meter-to-charge-then-step-up-next-to kinda girl. Pfft. Fail.

And lastly, I have a Facebook. :aww: See link above and add me as a friend if you like.

.Art Progress.
I've got too many projects going on at one time. I'm so burnt out on the big one and I'm just not happy with it at all. But it's so close to being finished that I hate to abandon it. Actually, it's only about 2/3 done...but that feel like quite a lot. It also feels like I have a colossal chunk of it left to complete. I hate it when projects turn into big, scary, looming monsters in the dark. :( So I started working on something else to ease the tension. It's coming out...dark. I rather like it. Hopefully, I'll finish today or this weekend.

Also, on a somewhat related matter, I have zero inspiration for RP. :| Zero. Actually, I take that back. I have inspiration, but I doubt I could find a partner for it, and I don't think I could keep a story going with it alone. Ah well. Such is life.

.Lyrics of the Week.

"Chestnut brown canary, ruby throated sparrow. Sing the song, don't be long, thrill me to the marrow. Voices of the angels, ring around the moonlight, asking me, said, 'She's so free, how can you catch the Sparrow?'"

F.A.Q.

.Frequently.Asked.Questions.

So I hear you liek horses?
Yup. Why? I've always loved animals, all of them. Horses have a special place in my heart and they always will. I am no longer able to be around actual horses, so I try to keep their spirit with me through art.

Do you take requests/trades/collaborations?
No requests, no exceptions. If I truly, truly admire you art, I might be willing to accept a trade or work with you on a collab.

What about commissions?
I am always willing to discuss commissions, but at this time my plate is rather full. Serious inquiries only please.

Can I use your art on my website/blog/video/horse sim/etc?
No.

Can I print out one of your pictures to hang on my wall?
Yes! If any of my pictures would cheer up a wall, feel free. However, do not use any of my art for commerical purposes and do not repost any of it anywhere on the internet. If I find out you have done this, I will take legal action.

Will you critique my artwork?
Maybe. Please only ask if you will not be offended by open, honest critique. I only give contructive criticism, but I will not sugarcoat any crits. I ask that you do the same when critiquing my work.

Will you teach me how to [insert random ability here]?
I will try to help, but I am still learning myself! Really! I learn something new every time I open Photoshop. The best advice I can give is to open the program and play!

Will you enter my contest?
Probably not. Sorry, but I've got a busy life and I really enjoy doing art just for the sake of it. Painting is my relaxation. That said, if your contest is very interesting to me, I might just join in. =]

You seem pretty cool/lame/I hate you/I have a question. How do I get in contact with you?
You can always note me on DA. Notes make me feel special. =D Also, I am almost always signed in to Yahoo Messenger. My screen name is: Endless_Emeralds As a last resort, you may e-mail me at Wright.BeccaA@gmail.com however, I do not check my e-mail often, so you are better off with one of the first two.

What is "Horse Tails"?
"Horse Tails" is an ongoing series of short stories about several horse characters I have created. The stories are intended for kids and teens between 7-14 years old. However, I'm 21 and I still enjoy them! =]

Do you write things for younger/older people too?
Yes I do! I love to write - possibly even more than I love to paint! I enjoy making up stories for my young nieces and nephew, but I usually tend to write a little more maturely for people of my own age group. 90% of what I write does not make it to DA, but that may change in the future.

Thus ends the F.A.Q. Hope you learned something! Check back later for updated questions and answers.
